ANTHONY J. DEMARIE,
who is presently of Counsel to the firm, was one of
the founding partners. He was born in Buffalo, New York
on May 10, 1928, educated at Canisius College and the
University of Buffalo School of Law where he received
his degree in 1955. He has since practiced in Buffalo,
New York, being admitted to the New York State Bar in
1956; the United States District Court for the Western
District of New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, and since
1977 a member of the Florida Bar, the Erie County Bar
Association where he has been a Director; on the Medical
Jurisprudence Committee; member of and Chairman of the
Negligence Committee. He is also a member of the New
York State Bar Association; the New York State Trial
Lawyers Association; has been a member of the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America; a member of the Western
New York Trial Lawyers Association where he was on the
Board of Governors from 1966 to 1969, and President
from 1979 to 1980. He has been a member of the Executive
Committee Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. (1971 to
1975), and on the Panel of Arbitrators of the American
Arbitration Association; He practices in the areas of
negligence, insurance, labor, trial and appellate practice
representing plaintiffs and defendants in all types
of personal injury and insurance litigation. He represents
bargaining agents for several police agencies throughout
Western New York, practicing in this area since the
enactment of Legislation permitting collective bargaining
in New York State.
